The N1000™ is a 3-phase common-core copper-wound dry-type autotransformer that is built to NEMA ST-20 and other applicable ANSI and IEEE standards. Windings have less than 0.95% zero sequence impedance, less than 0.3% zero sequence reactance. It has a 220 C class insulation system, comes standard in a NEMA-1 ventilated indoor enclosure, and has a 130 C operating temperature rise, 60Hz rated for 208/120V 4-wire systems.
The standard N1000™ configuration is parallel-connected to the electrical system to provide an attractive local path for all zero sequence currents including 3rd, 9th, 15th... as well as the unbalanced portion of 60Hz flowing in the neutral conductor. Its compact and efficient design ensures maximum performance while minimizing losses. It is equally well-suited to panel board and busduct installations, where neutral current, neutral-ground voltage and 3rd harmonic require treatment. Parallel connection means that most installations do not require a system shutdown. Other
benefits include reducing system voltage distortion and transformer losses, freeing up transformer and feeder capacity, and reducing phase current imbalance. When equipped with the MIL option kit, the N1000 construction includes processes like vacuum pressure impregnation and a 220 C class insulation system, built on the same assembly line as military grade magnetics under a MIL spec. quality assurance program. When equipped with the "PLUS" option, the enhanced N1000-PLUS acts as a series installed isolation transformer to treat the 5th & 7th harmonic currents on a system basis as well as the zero sequence currents.
The factory-installed Transient Voltage Surge Suppression (TVSS) option provides additional protection for sensitive equipment while eliminating associated field installation costs if providing this separately.
